I work with Symmantec from time to time, and they are no lackey I don't always agree with them but I do appreciate the role that they play and believe that for the most part they are doing their best to be honest and truthful.
Well today I read something that made me take a step back, Symmantec said that when it comes to widely-used operating systems, Microsoft is doing better overall than its leading commercial competitors.
This is quite the statement coming from Symmantec, they certainly don't have a record of being pro Microsoft in the last few years.
Not only has the SDL and the SWI helped us review a large portion of the code base, we have brought in a bunch of very cool security features that help increase the overall posture of Windows some of which include: ASLR, UAC, BitLocker, Code Integrity, and Secure Boot.
