The Lightweight OCSP profile has finally reached IESG last call, details for this follow:
The IESG has received a request from the Public-Key Infrastructure (X.509) WG (pkix) to consider the following document:
- 'Lightweight OCSP Profile for High Volume Environments' <draft-ietf-pkix-lightweight-ocsp-profile-11.txt> as a Proposed Standard
An earlier version of this document was sent out for Last Call on 2007-03-05 with the intent of being published as an Informational RFC. After the recent revisions, the IESG is considering this document for publication as a Standards-Track RFC.
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the ietf@ietf.org mailing lists by 2007-06-29. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to iesg@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.
The file can be obtained via http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-pkix-lightweight-ocsp-profile-11.txt
IESG discussion can be tracked via https://datatracker.ietf.org/public/pidtracker.cgi?command=view_id&dTag=12331&rfc_flag=0
BIG thanks to Alex my co-author he has been instrumental in getting this process completed!
BTW Microsoft (in Vista and Longhorn), VeriSign, CoreStreet, Tumbleweed and several others already implement this specification!!
