Justice, Michael Vic Convicted...

Previously I have written about the Michael Vic case (see: Put an END to ANIMAL FIGHTING....) well he was just convicted and sentenced to 23 months in jail for his involvement in dog fighting; its been a while since I looked at this case but I do recall he killed the dogs that did not show enough fighting spirit, or the ones that lost matches; he did not just shoot them, he drowned them, hung them and electrocuted them.

The maximum for this crime was supposedly 5 years, I wonder what would have warranted the 5 years but either way this sends the right message to Vic and others like him.

Just hope to see some commentary on the most recent NFL case. Wondering how other "Like Him" (Michael Vic as referred to in your website commentary. Interesting how the outrage of a man killing a dog is not matching up to a man killing a man drunk driving. Let me see. Could it be that his last name was Reyes (latino origin). Ohhh that has nothing to do with the fact that avid Mic Vic bloggers won't be so inclined to come up with such passionate rhetoric. I guess Mr. Stallworth gets a pass for not killing a poor dog. Write your heart out buddy!

Oh, by the way. Some other great unmitigated risk "justice" material would be a nice story on how other animals are more than electricuted and slaughtered for not performing. Ever heard what they do to race horses that can't run anymore. Oh I forgot, that doesn't make the news. Well I guess we have to continue writing about "people like him" because we won't get off of our unmitigated a$$e$ and do the research. Justice huh? No it's just us.

David, sorry to say I had never heard of the case you are refering to; and the issue, at least for me in the Vic case (BTW from over a year ago, I had not even thought about this until your comment) was not really about the killing of the dogs (which you appear to think is OK) it was about the willfull tourture and murder of helpless animals.

As for the iresponsibleness associated with drunk driving and this Reyes guy (I don't follow the NFL), through his negligence killing someone, thats a horible thing but totally unrelated.

If the point your trying to make is that I think that a persons life is worth more than a animals, let me assure you that is not the case; if you are incinuating that I didnt comment about the Reyes case because he his latino, again you are wrong, I simply had not heard about the case because I do not watch football or the local news where such things would be called out.

Clearly you have a chip on your shoulder, I am sorry to hear that, I hope you find peace with it.

As for your second post it appears you are making the agument tha Vics action were justifiable and right because race hourses are sent to slaughter when they can not race any more.

While I stronly beleive one wrong does not make a right, and I think it is a shame how many horses are sent off to slaughter every year (I have seen the PETA stats, even when I had posted this originally), I frankly dont think its the same thing as what was happening in the Vic case.

I wear leather, eat meat(have you seen how animals are bled for butchering?), etc and while these death of animals for these things are sad I am willing to accept it as the course of nature.

In the case of horses, it is my understanding that when they are sent to slaughter they typically go to asian contries for food or included in pet foods (not the pet foods I buy, by the way).

Could this all be done more humanely, surely; but thats not what was happening in the Vic case.

In any event, I see no reason to be disrepsectfull, which you have been in your comments, I will not be responding to any more of your posts that contain such a tone.
